Rivers & Hughes Hair Studio
Rivers & Hughes Hair Studio approached Candid at the start of their journey in setting up a new business to make sure that their first impression was right from the beginning. Candid took the helm in determining their company name and marketing strategy and worked with the couple to develop their brand, logo and a visual identity that would be flexible enough to be used throughout the business and across various media.
The business was in an unique position; not only was the premises previously a salon already with an existing client base, but both proprietors had a number of devoted clients gathered from working at other salons in the city.
The proprietors had a very clear idea of how the business was to be run; to provide a professional service with a personal touch, to take immense pride in their work and to offer the client an ‘experience’ that went above and beyond that provided elsewhere. The name was carefully chosen to reflect this ethos; including their surnames demonstrated their passion and their intrinsic links to the business’ success and failures, whilst ‘Hair Studio’ evoked a youthful, experimental sense to hair design that the proprietors held in high regard.
The logo was designed to be traditionally contemporary to give graphic substance to the company’s ethos. This was followed by advertising prior to the salon’s opening to forge a relationship with local residents and their existing clients.
In line with their ethos of creating an ‘experience’ with a personal touch, Candid produced high-quality laser-cut aluminium signage for the exterior, vinyl graphics for the company car as well as branded mugs to serve clients tea and coffee (with a reveresed logo on one side which rights itself when seen in one of the salon’s many mirrors).
The business launched in June 2012 and Candid is still working with this now successful company with their ongoing marketing and campaigning efforts.
