50 years on, has it really changed much?

Last weekend saw the 5oth anniversary of the Penarth Summer Festival, and this year’s grade finale, the Carnival day, was a huge celebration of the towns thriving community.

Crowds of locals gathered on the Esplanade to watch the highly anticipated ‘Downhill Derby’, a tradition that has long been an icon of the festival for years. kocsmai nyerőgépes játékok ingyen As we craned our necks to catch a glimpse of these years’, quite frankly, bonkers creations, we wondered what this event would have looked like 50 years ago. In fact, what the town of Penarth itself was like 50 years ago.

Of course, we can assume that the same colossal amount of ice cream was consumed but what memories do the local business owners and regular visitors of the festival have of this unique event? And how have things changed over the years?
