Refreshing an established awards programme without losing its identity

The South West Contact Centre Awards has been celebrating excellence across the customer contact industry for 19 years. For the 2026 event, the challenge was not to reinvent the awards, but to evolve them.
Working closely with the South West Contact Centre Forum and event production specialists Marsh Marketing, I was tasked with refreshing the visual identity to align with the newer design language established for the Scotland Contact Centre Awards earlier in the year. The objective was to create greater consistency across the company’s awards portfolio while retaining the recognition and familiarity that delegates, sponsors and entrants had built up over almost 2 decades.
The project began with a refinement of the awards logo and visual identity. Rather than introducing a dramatic rebrand, the focus was on creating a cleaner, more contemporary framework that could be applied consistently across every touchpoint of the event.
Over a nine-month campaign, the refreshed identity was rolled out across a comprehensive suite of print and digital materials. This included social media templates and campaign graphics, judges’ announcements, finalist and winner assets, event tickets, the printed awards programme, logo boards for photography, and presentation graphics displayed throughout the ceremony.
Beyond the day-to-day campaign materials, the project also extended into the physical experience of the event itself. Creative direction was provided for the trophy design, ensuring the awards reflected the same visual language as the wider campaign and delivered a cohesive experience for finalists and winners alike.
The ceremony welcomed more than 250 guests and celebrated achievement across 21 award categories. By developing a consistent visual system that worked across both digital and physical environments, the awards were able to present a polished and professional identity from the opening call for entries through to the final presentation on stage.
